Naxos has some of the best ferry connections in the Cyclades. From Piraeus, Blue Star Ferries sails year-round with conventional ships (about 5 to 7 hours depending on stops, ideal if you have a car), joined in season by Seajets high-speed services (about 3 to 4.5 hours). From Rafina, handy if you are coming from Athens Airport, seasonal departures run mainly April to October (Golden Star, Fast Ferries, Seajets).
Tip: for July and August, book high-speed ferries, cabins and vehicle spaces several weeks ahead, as those sell out first.
For island hopping, the Paros and Santorini routes run year-round, with up to 8 to 10 daily crossings in summer, while Mykonos and the Small Cyclades are mainly seasonal. The ferry drops you at the island's single port in Chora, right beneath the Portara: you step straight onto the waterfront, about 6.3 km from the apartment.
Naxos Island National Airport (JNX) is served by daily Olympic Air and Sky Express flights from Athens, taking about 40 to 50 minutes. With a runway of just 900 m it handles small aircraft only, and it is one of the fastest airports you will ever pass through: within minutes of landing you are outside with your bags. Seats are limited, so book early for summer.

There is a taxi rank on the port waterfront. The ride is short (6.3 km from the port, 2 km from the airport), but the island's taxi fleet is small and queues form at peak arrivals; our pre-booked transfer is the safer bet.
KTEL Naxos buses leave from the terminal right at the port and serve the beach line (Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna, Plaka) with frequent services in the summer season.
